It's taken me a long time to begin posting on this blog. I'm not sure anyone will ever read it. I really just want a place to write about my Catholic faith and the journey God invited me on when he brought me back to the Church and back to my senses.

Tonight I had anticipated and planned to share an important part of our Catholic Faith with my girls. But as sometimes happens, things don't always work out exactly as planned. I don't often take the girls to Mass through the week but tonight was special. The plan was to arrive at church shortly before 6:00 when the rosary was to begin. Then Mass at 6:30 followed by Exposition of the Eucharist for overnight Adoration to celebrate the anniversary of Fatima. A priest from our diocese was scheduled to speak after Mass on Fatima and Eucharistic Adoration. Then the plan was to go to Reconciliation and head for home. Well, we arrived on time but shortly after 6:00 the girls and I realized nobody was beginning the Rosary. So I whispered to the girls that we would begin anyway. They all had Rosaries with them and I had only one booklet with the Mysteries and Rosary explained. So sitting between Lydia and Melanie I tried my best to get them started. Gina had a Rosary with an insert in the pouch that showed her how to pray the Rosary. Now I can't be sure they said every prayer and honestly I'm not sure I myself got them all in with having to stop and point to the book and ask them if they were ready for the next decade. But I must say I am very proud of my girls. They prayed on their own silently and I think they did very well. Note to self....we need to begin family Rosary at home. Mass began a few minutes late and right afterwards was Exposition. Then the visiting Priest began his talk around 7:00. Now we were told that we could go to Reconciliation during the talk but we were sitting close to the front and I didn't want to be rude and get up in the middle of it. Especially since nobody around us was getting up. So we sat and listened. Father spoke for almost an hour which if you know anything about 9-11 yr. olds who have been up since 6:00 a.m. you'll understand that they became restless and very tired. So once he was finished, we decided to come on home. The evening wasn't a total loss. I had the opportunity to answer lots of questions and help my girls become closer to God by experiencing something they rarely get the chance to participate in. And We all received the Eucharist which is always a good thing. We will make it a point to go to Reconciliation very soon.

And now it's just about time for me to go back to church and spend an hour of Adoration with my Lord.
